Inuit Fish lure made of fossil walrus tooth

These fish lures or sinkers were made of fossil walrus ivory and decorated with incised eyes and other features of a small fish. The fish lure served both to sink the hook and line and acted as a lure to attract fish. They were also used to catch salmon by moving the lure up and down the fish came near and the hunter could spear it.
